Didn't realisze there was Mk4 section....Dam...

Anyway....here she is....

Okay thought i'de post a thread showing the latest burst of progress on my mk4. I got my head down for a solid weeks work before the polo show to get my green beast looking presentable. 2 days after the show i had to go to Uni so it was the last time i was gunna get to drive it till christmas so wanted to make an effort! It was so much fun getting the work done, which I did all by myself with some help from my mates (removing bumpstrip sticky shit). And to complete all the things i had planned at the end and stand back was awsome....

Basically i ordered coilovers 2 weeks before the show so i could hopefully fit em before the show but unfortunatly they turned up on the day I left for uni which sucked! So anyway....here's the spec of the 8v as it stands....

- custom hidden exhaust

- k&N

- omp lower strut brace

- poly bushes all around

- new wishbones

- polished rocker cover

- 15x7 Mim's fully refurbed in cream with custom centre caps 195/15/45 nankangs

- custom rear wiper blank

- 320mm steering wheel

- mk5 rears

- clear front indicators

- debadged grill

- genisis door speakers

- JBL 6x9's

- soon to have genisis sub and amp plus new head unit

- bullet arial

- 44. magnum valve caps

- smoothed out washer jets

- 40mm lowering kit....soon to have coilies (TA Technix) down as far as they will go....

- g40 front breaks...aparantly

- german'ish plates

- checkered tow cover

- fury dice

- few magic tree's

Anyways....heres all the pictures leading up the the polo show...all the work took about 6 days.....

And so the journey started to get to the show....i didnt even get to clean her...we left at 11pm on saturday night!

I managed to polish my car up nicely for the show and shine on the sunday....i was so anoyed that i didnt get to fit the coilovers....it would of looked so much better!!!!!!!! Here are the pics of it that i took at the show.....

Plans for the christmas holidays are to....

- remove most of the stickers....i got a bit excited, want a more clean look....

- fit coilovers

- get my sound system sorted...genisis parts being fitted etc....

- get these babies sprayed up (I smoothed them both myself in the summer....their just waiting to go on)

- 6n2 gti spliter

- single wiper kit

- rain/wind sheilds

- Order these again....15x8 et 25 .....i ordered them in the summer but they took to long and i needed the money back!

shame the coilies wernt on in time!

with the bumper did you not think about smoothing the plate recess? not slating! just wondering if you considered it seeing as your doing it all yourself (which is always good, props to that man)

& those wheels your going to order look sooooooooo nice

i recon the gold should go well with the green :)

Well the coilies are waiting....as soon as i get back from Uni I'm gunna fit them! I did think about it but i was scared about the filler cracking later on....i imagin i would screw on a few blanking plates to bring the recess more inline with the body work so i wouldn't have to use such thick amounts of filler! I might have a go....have you got any tips? I think I'm going to spray them in matt black and put them on when i fit my coilies cuz my 8v bumpers are battered...what u reckon?

As soon as i raise funds I'm gunna get them!

Not sure mate....i think they sell em on ebay pretty cheap. I got this one from a scrappy...it was on a mk2 brederz!!

I cant really remember...i guess for primer and paint i used about 2 of each on the bonnet and then 2 of each on the roof as well....the mirrors obviously alot less....so at about £3 to £4 a can you can probs paint it for £30 - £40 depending on how much paint you use....you gotta remember the masking tape, sanding paper and preperation products like tack rags and gloves to...!

It was a bitch to make....but dont think anyone else has one the same which is cool!!! I painted the boot handle myself....

just get a flat head screw driver and some cloth and pop it of....you can just super glue it back on!

Picking up some 15x8 keskin KT8's 2moro....dunno whether i'll be insured on my car for this holiday yet, but the coilovers are going on, as well as the new wheels (which i think I'm gunna refurb)....oh and front and rear smoothed 16v bumpers....oh and bonnet struts and chrome door pins....need maybe some new audio bits......i'll keep you posted....

oh and if i get these wheels....was thinkin plain silver centres wiv polished lip to keep it smart...or shall i stick with the cream theme???

i have those same coilovers under my bed waiting for me to fit them, could you tell me how they perform?

havnt fitted them yet!!! But they are gunna be bouncy and harsh most probably....what more can you expect for £200 coilies...!!
