Idle speed control?

Featured Replies

Hi people! my 8v 6n seems to be idling roughly/juddering a bit and seems to be slower accelerating, so plugged my code reader in and low and behold I had a code!,I had this fault code before and the garage just sprayed some carb cleaner down the throttle body, but this didnt get rid of the code straight away(but did evenutually!),is there a part that might need replacing? is this a common fault?

its got a K&N 57i induction kit fitted (could the oil get in to the throttle body??) should I just throw it in the bin

The DTC refers to {from Wiki}

00533 - Idle Speed Regulation

00533 - Idle Speed Regulation: Adaptation Limit (Add) Exceeded

Possible Symptoms

Bad Fuel Economy

Possible Causes

Air Leak between Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor and Engine

Injector(s) faulty

Fuel Pressure Regulator faulty

Throttle Body faulty

Intake Air Filter dirty

Possible Solutions

Perform Throttle Body Adaptation

Check Hoses and Pipes to/between Components

Check Intake Air Filter

Check Fuel Pressure Regulator

Check Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve

Check Injector(s)

I suggest you clean out the throttle body and perform a reset to 'Basic Settings'.

Same problem, but I hear a hissing sound as soon as I turn the engine off. Should I check the hoses? Which ones should I be looking at?
