Featured Replies

hi a have a 2000 6n2 and the abs light comes on at least once a day sometimes stays on sometimes dont

i.ve checked the brake fluid thats ok

brake pads have plenty left

i have noticed a couple times when braking lightly that i can feel grinding through the brake pedel not sure if this is connected .....

i first thought it might be a sensor problem but because the light is on and of like a nympho i not so sure

anybody have any thoughts as to what it might be..........

i had the same propblem, but as i have the privalidge of working for vw i plugged the computer into my car and it was a sensor fault. just went to gsf and brought a new sensor for £30 and they are identical to the genuine vw ones.....

there is a way of getting the light out for a bit if its stuck on.... if you drive your car so it gets to temperature. then pull over turn the engine off, then wait 10 seconds and then drive at 5mph in 1st gear and it should go out, you may have to go into second and drive really slow.....

mines on, same year, same car. slam your brakes on, if the abs kicks in, your fine, then ignore the light... VW dealers will rape you for fixing it, other than that, ask your mates, or as above, get a cheap sensor... I'm sure that will be it... mine came on right after i had some electrical work done for the ignition, so somethings probably just come loose.
