Hi guys, thought it's about time I wrote about my project 9n!

2002 reg, in silver, P.O.S engine, bought standard.

So far, badgeless grille, stripped out rear, 16 inch contour rims in matt black riding on Bridgestone Potenza 215-45-16's on the rear and Turanza 205-45-16's up front.

Steering wheel spokes in silver, as well as trim insert in passenger door handle.

New clutch fitted just a few weeks ago by myself, possibly to be upgraded after engine mods.

Yet to be done:

312mm TT front brake setup

Rear discs

Coilovers

Bonnet Bra

TDI exhaust

Rear VW rofo spoiler,

VW sideskirts, front + rear skirts

Smoothed bumpers

LEGAL pressed plates.

Engine mods,

(for the future!!)

External Oil cooler

twin cam 12v head, ported + polished + biggest possible valves

Uprated custom cams

small turbo w/intercooler

Custom made stainless induction

Should be enough to keep me busy for a short while!!

id save your pennies and not spend them on big brakes etc if its only a 1.2 lol

Well tbh I've got it all planned out, I'd rather have the base all ready for when I upgrade the engine..

I know I won't be running massive BHP but I have a thing for good brakes! Mine arent too bad but knowing I can get the TT brakes real cheap then why the hell not! Plus I got a wheel bearing on its way out so that's another reason.. + fitting coilies I might as well do everything in one go!

I've never believe in massive engines, yeh would be great to have one in there, but I'd much rather spend money and do something very unusual! Got a classic mini as well, with the engine stuff I've done on it, its mad! 998cc, and it'll thrash anything! All built by myself :)

So hopefully I might be able to transform this 1200 engine into something never seen before! :)

It will be interesting to see what you can do with the famous three cylinder, six valve 1198cc lump.

Progress threads tend to go in the 'Photo & Video Gallery' as opposed to 'Polo Chat', after all this is image based and you can keep updating us with photos when things are done.

mines certainly the 6v!! I do thrash the nuts off it all the time when I'm driving, poor gal she takes it! She loooooves it! (even with 91,000 miles on the clock!!)

Ok well I guess progress threads are actually image based, come to think of it they would be quite boring without piccies! I'll get some more tomorrow before I go away and upload 'em if I get time :)

You do know you'll need:

Hubs

Wheel bearings

Wheel bearing carriers

Drive flanges too

Hoses

All from a fabia VRS or polo GTI

you're looking at over £400.... cheap, certainly not!

Hmm £400! That's a fair bit hehe wouldn't stop me but I've found some for 200 or so, plus working in a car spares place i can get all bearings etc brand new very very cheap :p

Just fitted rear discs.. Pads were something like £7, discs were like £14 for the pair.. Just needed calipers, spindles and correct brake hoses... Such an easy upgrade too!
