alright dudes

i have a boost gauge fitted to my g

its been t'd into the vaccum line which runs between the fuel pressure regulator and the upper of the two outputs just beneath the one way valve that comes off the servo.

is this correct?

the reason i ask is...

the gauge with the car off measures 0, at iddle it measures -4

as i put my foot down, not full open throttle, the gauge reads an increasing vaccum, values around -6/-8

and when at flat peddle it slowly inceases, therefore reading boost, but will not get higher than 0.2/0.3 pressure

could i have a boost leak? ( car does pull hard suggesting i dont)

could there be a leak in the t peice or associated lines

could the boost gauge be broken?

its a brand new refurbed psd charger, 600 miles ago

engine fully rebuilt, 600 miles ago

everything refurbed and brand new

at low load the pressure in the manifold is a vacuum so its fine.

i understand that, but my issue is that i cant get it to read that much boost, it does not even move that much past zero

is the plumbing correct for the t peice?

whats the spec of the engine? Although even a stock engine should show getting on for 0.5 bar. Maybe you have a boost leak but you'd be able to hear it. Another option is knackered charger belts which are slipping. Or maybe a rubbish gauge, it looks pretty cheap & nasty!

The main thing that effects the boost gauge reading is the pulley size, if you have a 65mm pulley on it you should see more like 1.0bar or just above. But if you've also got things like gt inlet manifold and ported and big valve head then you will see slightly less pressure at the gauge.

i have a 65mm pulley on stage4 charger with brand new standard belts, no porting or bvh, gt inlet, stainless 4-2-1 manifold, full stainless 2" system, jabba sport induction kit and heat shield, de-wedged throttle body, boost return removed, matching g-werks chip for my set up, the works basically

everything is brand new or refurbed on my car

i bought the gauge second hand and did not know if it works when i did, its an autogauge gauge

i dont have a boost leak, becuase as you say i would here it.

hmm i shall do a test using a gauge i know works and see what happens

from reading about the forum, with my spec i should see around 150bhp+, (not had a rolling road session yet)

yeah you should see a bar. But you wont see that just revving the engine in neutral though, you'll only get it when actually driving and at higher revs.

ye all the values i have said are when i am driving, i will try with another gauge
