Friend of mine is looking for insurance on his first car, he is 20 and just passed test

he is going to get some cheap 1.0 litre car, does anyone have any companies to recommend?

it will be insured 3rd party only, any help at all be great

I just passed 23 brought 1.4 CL Polo. Went with Admiral for £1085 10mth bonus accelator (which means i get a full 1 years NCD when i have only had insureance for 10mths) A lot of companies dont want to insure you if you dont have 12mths NCD. Also the reason i got it that cheap because i put my mums name as named driver who has over 20yrs driving and 15yrs NCD.

Another thing you can do is, if not already brought the car. Register the car under a parents name and have your friend as a named driver. You will def save loads. On my own i was getting quotes of £1700-£1800 (more than my car is worth lol). So you can see how much i saved!

that is also true, with mine it will count if i get insurance from admiral next year. Which i plan to anyway seeing as there were they cheapest this year.

I'm with tesco because i work there, get some discount, first year on a clio, 1200 on my own was absolute cheapest i could find anywhere,

after 1 years no claims, 600 per year on a better car, my current polo.

tell him how important your no claims are!

and to shop about, me and my friends get different quotes depending on location and all sorts, so sorry, your just going to have to do a bit of searching... book it online usually knocks 10% off

If I was wanting to insure mods (lights, coilies, ally wheels) who would be best to go with, its a 1.6 and its also my first year, so yes I am getting slightly raped but churchill have quoted me 1700 for the full 12 months.

am with admiral on my own policy..all mods declared...tho theres a limit on how low you can go

bell are pretty good on price, allow a few mods if you are young unlike some other insurers.

750 for my coupe S, 19 no ncb, 18months driving, parents as named drivers, lowered with aftermarket wheels.

Adrian flux are pretty good aswell. I'm 19 with 1 year no claims and 3 points lc20 code

£870 on my gt tpft with all mods declared

Also the second cheapest was quinn at £1200 without the mods! So theres a big difference!
