Hi there

i was thinking of putting some 165/50/15s on them

BUT i think these tyres will give to much stretch and look a little funny. (i'm all for stretch but sometimes to much on not so wide wheels can look a bit pants)

SO

what tyre do you think would be a good choice 175/50/15????

if anybody has got some 7.5" wide wheels with these tyres on i be very happy if you could upload them

depends how much you plan on tucking the wheels or how low your going, they look subtle on a 7j dont think it would effect the look by half an inch of stretch to be honest

its your wheels at the end of the day so its your choice on what you decide

the wheels are et20 so nicely suited to the car. well i'm going to get the tyres sorted and then lower the car until it starts to scrape. then just wind the coillies up a bit to suit.

i guess the point to this post is has anybody got a picture of some 175/50/15 tyres on a 7.5 by 15" wheel

my fronts are 7.5 witha 165/50/15. tis quiet abig stretch.

...will try n get a better shot for you as off the car n stored up for winter.

I'm running 195-45's and a lil bit of strech but id be going for 165-50's after seeing davids at edition ^

found these two pictures which say 175/50/15 of a 7.5" wheel

but they look completely different...???

second pic isnt 175/50 on a 7.5, too much stretch.

i'd say 175/50. They look fairly normal on 7's and streteched a bit on 8's, most people with ATS Classics on Mk3's run them.

165/50 is a nice stretch, and being 15's would help you lower it and prevent rubbing.

yup 185 on a 7 1/2 rim

i use 185s on a 8inch rim n looks good enough to me, nice bit o stretch without being silly

i've heard a lot of people say the nankangs 185/45/15 tyres don't have as much grip as most. how do you guys think they handle/grip?

They handle fine, dont listen to the scene queens!

I think mine handle as good as my proxies did, and for £36 a tyre who gives a fuck!

i use toyos and pirelli's, slightly more expensive (not much tho) just cos I've never heard of nankangs apart from in "the vw scene"

so i went with something i know and have used before!

hard compound.. depends how u drive really. push them hard in the wet n they dont like it. that said a 165 wont give u much grip either on a 7.5. i run 165/50 on a 7.5 n 185/45 on a 8.0. both nankang ns-2. (summer rims.)

165/50R15s are listed in my tyre chart as having a max safe rim width of j6, the narrowest tyres listed as safe for 7.5 are 205s. Remember your insurance may refuse to pay out if they think they can get away with it for any reason.
