My b3 2.0 8v.

its on 171k, and a full service 4k ago, receipts for £300 in parts.

tax till end jan, MOT feb some time...

parts were:

pads & disks all round, brembo an pagid, with grooved fronts.

3 wheel bearings, only one not done was d/side front, not needed

dizzy cap, rotor arm, plugs, leads

pipercross panel filter

oil & filter

cambelt an aux belts

few other bits that i cant remember atm.

bad bits:

my access to work is thru a concrete yard, so its got messy.

pass side glass dont wind due to glass not being in mech properly, also diy-emergency membrane on pass side.

bodywork not amazing, lacuquer peel on front mask an driver's door, rear corners have been plated previously(common spot for b3's to go).

uses a bit of oil when cold.

starter motor a lil noisy, not all the time, its intermittent atm.

2 shocks will need doin for MOT.

good bits:

comes with new "badboy" front mask, interiour plastics in rare blue, headlights, clear indicators and replacement 2nd hand shocks.

its relaible and alright on petrol, my record on a run is 52mpg @ 60mph 1/2 laden.

I'm idealy after straight swaps with something diesel powered (VAG pref, but anything reasonable considered) but if you have cash i'll take...£450 ONO

52mpg?! is that what the MFA is telling you or calculated?

mfa, and its accurate, tested tank full-empty and calculates the same as mfa.

5th gear, constant 60mph = 2,750 rpm the engine at its most efficiant.

other 2e owners have been known to acheive it too...

my drive to work is more like 32mpg... which again worked out accurate as i was getting around 90 miles on £15 when petrol was upto 107.9...

the MFA in these is much better and more reliabel than the dodgy mk2 ones, being mk3 golf engine and clocks, ALL MFA FUNCTIONS WORK FULLY TOO!
