Split rim bolts...

Featured Replies

I have fake split rim wheels and really want to change the bolts for a different colour.

I want either black or gold to replace my chrome ones but can't seem to find them anywhere, even ebay!

Does anyone know of a place i can buy some proper wheel bolts in a different colour? You must be able to get them somewhere cuz people always change the chrome ones for gold ones on the BBS wheels etc.

Thanks

Yeh my fake split rim bolts definitely come out... it's just that i didn't want to risk doing it myself in case i made a mess of it.. :(

I had the same problem on my RSL Cults. They are also a fake split rim with aluminium studs for bolts. Mine just knocked out from the back of the rim with a hammer, as they were not threaded.

I bought some new bolts from Titanium Touch who were really helpful and accepted PayPal payment and delivered quickly. Then i tapped out the holes in the rims to M6 size (mine were almost M6 size holes) and screwed them in.

Take a look:--

Probably my favorite mod so far.

Cheers euro-derby, i'll take a look at them. I think mine are threaded to be honest.

Were they expensive? I count 64 in total on my wheels (16 a wheel).

Ed

Fairly expensive, around £220 for the bolts (i bought 110, 20 per wheel plus the spare and 10 spare bolts).

Cheers, Vic

when replacing your bolts, remember to put a smear of grease on the threads etc , because if bolts are a different metal to the wheel then it may corrode very quickly..... i think its called electrolytic corrosion.

just a thought!

Good point, the bolts from Titanium Touch are well coated. I used a dab of tiger seal on mine.

Mine shouldn't be that much, if yours were 110 in total, mines nearly half that amount...

...and the prices on there were around 1 euro per bolt i think?

Thanks
