wouldnt suprise me at all in todays financial climate.

the motor industry along with many others is on its arse atm and so many big firms are just going under,,although ford does seem a little unlikely,,you never know though.

it'll be a huge shock if they do, after all ford is one of the longest running companies around!

must be bullshit

unlikely? they nearly went under in the mid 90s after using the general public to test a new tyre combo on the ford explorer! that went horribly wrong, people died and ford had their asses sued as a result

must be but can you imagine if it weren't that would be huge all the most popular (no pun intended lol) cars on the road would come to an end, no more transit, no more fiesta. but who knows eh... :?

dont like fiestas anyway

The US 'big three' as in General Motors, Ford and Chrysler are in serious financial trouble at the moment. The one most likely to go bankrupt at the moment though is Chrysler, hence the reason you are seeing crazy offers on Dodge's and what not.

and they came out of the other side didnt they?? so yeah id say pretty unlikely.

I doubt Mr. Obama would let Ford "go under"

Ford US has been in trouble for a long time, as has the US branch of GM. Basically, it's Ford Europe and Vauxhall that prop them up financially.

Basically, they still make gas guzzlers, whereas people in America have realised that they're far better off with a reliable economical Jap car (which are pretty cheap over there compared to here due to the direct shipping lanes).

bmc/rover survived the 70s, didnt stop them from going down eventually

probly because no one can a-ford one, sorry had too

BMC/Rover produced nothing but shit in the 70's. They didn't deserve to survive as long as they did.

Fraud and GayMotors in the US are stupid.

hope so, ford are shit

meh

hope so, ford are shit

lol

Ford Europe or Ford America?

Seeing as the Focus and Mondeo are close to if not the best cars in their class

Though they may make very mundane (althuogh excellent) cars usually, every so often ford shows us that there are still plenty of people there who really can cut the mustard.

Because you know that it took a lot of passion to produce somthing like this... not just number crunching office gimps....

kinda true, but they made a lot of good designs, they just badly executed them, take the rover sd1, great car, just badly built. the nail in the coffin for rover was BMW, all they wanted was the mini badge and the designs to the land rover models so they could steal the ideas for their own 4x4s!
