i can remember seeing a 1.6 gt conversion in a mk2 polo.i just wondered if anyone ould tell me the engine code of the bottom end used,and anymore info on the conversion would be a bonus.

Not as easy as that.

I have a complete 1.6 AEE in my MK2 with Honda Fireblade fuelling - you cant just use the bottom end of a 1.6 with your 1.3 head.

You'll find a wealth of info in the engine/technical forum archive,including a topic on fitting the 1.6 to pre-'94 cars pinned at the top of that page.

ABF is a tall block 2.0 16v out of a golf, so then it would be a case of 2.0T FSI ftw.
