From experience though, high-ish powered front wheel drive polo = fail in anything but dry conditions

My mum had a new shape TT convertable for a few weeks, was a very nice driving car, although not majorly impressive in terms of performance.

Edit: It would work out cheaper for you to just sell the Polo and buy something faster if all you're interested in is beating the TT.

That way you also get a car that made to withstand the power and will handle decent instead of cornering like a housefly, the Polo won't put the power down as well as say a B5 Audi S4, which can be had for around 5k now.

I really think you should just get a couple years under your belt! i'd hatee to see another young driver binning there car due to inexperience with big power! Big power cars are soooooooo much easier and more likely to bite you in the arse!

should be used as a anti drink drive campaign if you ask me, drinking and driving is not only dangerous, it can also detach the top of your head from your skull and empty its content's all over the road

No point giving someone tht age such a expensive car, pepole do have bumps it happens esp when young. Often not the new drivers fault aswell you can be the worlds best driver but theres dicks on the road always.

Invest in a better car if your willing to spend a large some trying to get it quicker then the TT or just dont bother and be content

What does it matter if your GF has a faster car? shes probs still going to drive slower than you anyways.

I know a few girls that have faster cars then me, i don't have a paddy over it and try to make my polo quicker.

As for lambo doors, yep id just laugh at you and get in you are GF's TT

Oh and not forgetting, even if you did make your car quicker it still never would be in her eyes because girls are never wrong !

The fact that you want to compete with your girlfriend is embarrassing. You should be working together and not competing.

At the end of the day you might make your Polo quicker than a TT. But you park both up anywhere and people will look at the TT as it has the right image. Most people who buy new roadsters aren't interested in what you've done. Its what car has the right image and the right toys as standard (or as an optional extra).

Put it this way, if you saw your bank manager come to work in a Polo with lambo doors you'd think "wtf, hes supposed to be a professional" but if he turned up in a nice new black TT you'd not give it a second thought as the car suits his job.

There are always going to be people with better things out there than you. The sooner you realise that and not let it bother you the better off you will be.

dam beaten to it lol, if you want a fast rado save up and get a VR6 one, ok its still not gonna light the world on fire but at least you have the option of making it fast, G60 engine = big anti climax in my experience, sounded mint but 200bhp should be much quicker than it was, and that was in a mk1 cabby which is lighter than a rado isn't it? shame as they are probably the best looking vw ever built imo.
