Got to admit, I don't rate the internet places by the time you've factorred in the cost of fitting. I generally just get the Yellow Pages out and work the phone ringing round local tyre places for an hour to get the best price.

As for brand. I avoid cheap (as far as the above defences go, advanced motorist in a 55hp mk2) as far as I can. I generally tend towards Avons and Firestones as they're a good tyre and normally priced well. I run Avons on my Mk2 and Firestones on the Camry, two cars that are both famed for shit handling, and have no complaints.

The Camry uses tyres? I thought it just had a rudder.

I would never buy cheap tyres again just not worth it especially in the wet.

I had falkens and was not really impressed, but i'v had 3 sets of kuhmo's and cant fault them. I just bought a set of Toyo t1r's on ebay for £165 (195.45.15) and they are simply amazing, god knows how long they will last though as they are very soft!
