Driveway Lowering Service

Featured Replies

Hello!

Over the years I have noticed how loads of people on various forums have lowered their cars themsleves...I have read guides and everything but am still not confident enough to do it.

Is there anybody here who does it for others at a good price? There is no way I am paying the prices at the garage, lowering is just not worth it then!

I am based in Birmingham..a few beers and a couple of quid should cover it! It is a VW Lupo 1.4s btw...just looking to see if I can get a hand, have not ordered anyithng as parents say I am just wasting money on cars!

Thanks,

Irfan

I want to lower the car with my standard wheels..I like this look!

Anyway is 60mm too much with the steelies?

Seen some -40mm springs which are pretty cheap!

nah mate 60 will b sweet, i shall ask my mate where he got his from, they were off philj tho I'm sure, send him a pm n see what he says!!!!

and we can always ajust it to suit, thats the beauty of coilovers :)

Having second thoughts on coiles dude, as 60/60 is what I want, I will never want to go lower as roads round here would not let me!

PhilJ coiles for the loop £205 + 15 postage

Gonna PM him about Springs and shocks kit, if he has them they should not be more than £130 + 15 postage, what do you think? As I am certain I would not want to go lower than 60/60....have you fitted these kits before?

Cheers!

nah but i know how to, its pretty much the same, if not easier i believe, i had never fitted coilies b4 and now I'm a pro ahaha lmao, i can get help of a mate who has done it anyways, but its up to u mate, i would defo go coilovers, what if 60/60 leaves massive arcg gap and u can go lower!!! u will b pissd, or 60 may b too low!!! coilovers are best bet imo!!!

Higoo what do you say to new top mounts? PhilJ says that they wear over time and if we are replacing the legs we may as well replace them anyway..what you think?

Dude I am only going for it because I have a Mr Fitter! Otherwise no way would I do it!

ask rn1988, i dnt think we changed them, how many miles you are car done?? they normally fine, i neva bothered either, my mate did when we did his bora but on all the other cars we did we neva bothered, he just wants more money outa u hehehe

:)

haha thats what I thought so thought it would be best to ask the expert..

W plate 2000, 66k miles.

should b ok tbh, how much do they cost tho for the sense of peace of mind???

id change them tbh the car is geting on for 8/9years old so might aswell, literally like 2mins to change them while they are off the strut and you would have to take the old ones off anyway so it would probably save time
