7.5"?

Get some 165/50's on them.

does anyone know if 7.5" by 15" wheels will touch coilovers with 195/45/15's on?

mate your wheels would have to have some crazy high offset to be hitting coilovers, have you not noticed the difference in width of the standard shocks and coilovers?

yeh but mate on 6ns when you lower them the wheel is obviouslt sitting at a similar height to the suspension,

wheras its not on standard suspension,

so on 6ns for example running stock valver wheels catches when you lower them on coilies as they catch the locking rings, i had to space mine at 5mm

never mind legal or not, wheels that far out looks shit!

really? never heard of that before

it obviously depends if you are low but apparently I'm not the only one who had similar problems according to walshc who fitted them for me

when i forst lowered mine the locking ring was so far down the thread and the wheel was into the arch they sat parralel and rubbed on the inside of the tyre (on the front not the back)

On the police site i got a link to on stretch and poke a while ago i remember reading the wheel itself cant stick out the arch more than 3 cm, if it does its illegal.

I also remember reading that it was bolox that wheels could harm someone near by as the police roit (or similar) vans wheel nuts stick out further than the arches and the wheels! iir cit was skatty who put that up on there

yea i read that aswell, then i got my spirit level on my wheel and measured from the arch to it, 28mm, just legal woop woop! it passed an mot with the wheels on too.

but it really does depend on the copper!

Definate, ILLEGAL.

If your wanting it done legal for free adjuct your camber to in so the tread isnt visible and you'l be ok.

ok cheers guys but illegal or not they were impractical and the spacers have now been removed lol.

and they are now definatly legal.

except the chunks out of my tyres are pretty bad....

other than that the fronts are fine its just the rears are bothering me now. they catch when the car bounces when the coilies are down.

the rear is about an inch higher for the time being to save my tyres but its so ugly!

is arch rolling the answer for me to be able to slamm the back again?? (Pics tomorrow i promise)

you have a couple of options

1) more stretch - can be unparcatical as not everyone loves having uber stretch on their car as its supposedly unsafe

2) camber - add some cambeer to help stop the wheels rubbing as the wheel is poking in towards the car more, but can add to adverse tyre wear but no much imo

3) arch rolling - have the arches done see if that makes a difference

4) arch pulling - have the arches pulled a little bit to see if you can generate more clearance

but tbh i have a combination of all of the above and i still can't have passengers in the rear of my car, ut thats the sacrifice i make, all of the above helps reduce scrubbing dramatically but not fully. so it may be something you may have to live with.

the best options are most probably little more stretch and look into having your arches rolled, its difficult to say without pics though

also, a set of 20mm hubcentric spacers up for grabs now. pretty much brand new i used them for about a day not event that = £50

this is damage the spacers did to my front tyres..

the fronts dont scrub anymore though with the spacers out and I'm happy with gap

and this is the ugly arch gap at the back I'm on about..

the white mark there is from where a fucking pikey transit van scraped me down a country lane last night and did a runner!

the idiot.

as if my car hadn't taken enough of a beating.

and lastly this is how my ride currently sits..

i just have to get rid of that arch gap! I'll keep the updates coming once i get the arches rolled and slamm it again lol.

get some stretch on them and you can have it sat on the floor, 165 on a 7.5 j would be a nice stretch and stop alot of the rubbing

EDIT: btw it looks nice on the wheels, imo looks so much better without the spacers upfront

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I'm sure if the cops saw that they'd have a field day with it. Tyre is very badly damaged!

yeh i know what you mean it does look better without the spacers. don't know why i brought them now..

just thought it would be fun lol.

now I'm reeeally regretting though because it kills me to see the state of my brand new tyres i literally just brought!

its mostly the driver side thought the passenger sides not too bad.

it's because i was coming off one of those motorway junctions where its one loooooonnnngggg bend and it was scraping the whole way around.

it was painfull

ah well lesson learned lol
