may have some trouble with insurance or so soon, took out my insurance this year in jan, had a lil bump with sum1 around feb and hes trying to claim on my insurance...

anyways the car is under my name and not the policy holders, i rang up the insurance other day to find out about the claim, they said they want 2 see the registration certificate, i told them the policy holder is not the registered keeper but i am...they said they may void my insurance but will have to decide once they see the certificate

I'm transferring the car on to the policy holders name literally in next couple of days...

but does anyone know what exactly happens wen you are insurance is void apart from not being able to drive you are car?

does it prove a lot of trouble trying to get insurance in the future?

would appreciate some advice,

you can only insure a car if you are the registered keeper! they ask you that when you get a quote.

if your insurance is void then they WILL NOT pay out for the person who you hits car. (insurance companies use anyway way shape or form to get out of paying anything)

You are then classed as driving without insurance - expect to pay for the blokes car - or be taken to court so he can reclaim the costs of the damage- if it goes to court expect to be hit with 6 points for driving without insurance!

trying to get insurance with 6 points will be expensive!

i take it you have done the whole "dad insured me on the car coz it was cheaper" trick - if so your screwed as the police were doin a crackdown on this as of this year (in the papers around febuary)

Sorry to hear about your troubles - but next time think about the conciquences of saving a few quid!
