God Bless Auntie...

It wasn't exactly a master plan when I first picked up a cheap Mk.3 back in Feb, but now phase 3 has come good all in the same year!

I always knew the wife's elderly (1920 model!) auntie had a Polo as an occasional runner tucked away in her garage since her uncle died, but didn't expect it to come our way so soon.

Auntie's not dead - far from it - she's just bought herself a 2006 Urban Fox after picking up an injury shopping last week!

The Polo is now ours to cherish, the injury is being dealt with at the body shop (auntie's account!), and all it's cost us is the passing on of a '99 Mondeo Estate Zetec to the next of unfortunate kin.

It's the deal of the fuckin' decade!! :-D

It's only a bump - he'll be back on the team next week...

That's 30 miles a week average, FDSH, 7 VAG oil changes, two timing belt changes, one complete new set of brakes and fluid change, one set of spark plugs, a minor clutch adjustment and 8 washer bottle fills! Oh, and of course, one dent repair.

The running in is nearly over - let the driving commence!!

It's a 1.4S btw.

My other two are oil burners - the red one's up for parts raiding here...

Next project if my luck keeps up - a replica based on a Mk.1 hopefully...? :smirk:

Same concept but different size floorpans. Bora feels a much more substantial car.

Polo Saloon is just a rebadged SEAT Cordoba - both made in Spain...
