I am running 15"x6.5 and i regret it. I feel they are too big for the car.

its not your wheels that are too big. its your tyres

i love the way mk2 and 3s drive on 15s fitted with the right tyres

tyres are 165/50s and yes the car has been lowered, but i dont know how much as it was lowered when i bought it. i would guess its around a 40-50mm drop

you could use 165/45 r16s but that would be one hell of a stretch and they would probably look a bit wrong

Couldn't find one anywhere so i made it, not hard at all.

Cut out the badge section (two columns going down) then brought another grill and cut out two sections where there was no badge and then glued it in, bit of filler, spray of black satin paint, and complete. Transforms the front of the car and I love it. :-D definitely worth doing

Well,someone saw potential in those MINI wheels - and i think it works.

they look much better once I colour coded the centers and stripped/polished the rims

the center bore just needed a bit of fettling to make fit

I love it on 15s it was on 145/70/13s before (oh dear) now with the bridgestones it actually handles reasonably well. Bit of a harsh ride but its only used for the daily (15 miles each way) so I can live with it. I was after a look rather than comfort

I'm running 7.5x16s with 195/45s with 35mm offset and its not too bad. Lost full lock though!

Still, they are a little too big really so changing to 7.5x14s with 0 offset. Just have to work out tyres and finish fitting the widearches!

That a breadvan BTW. 16s on a coupe would be pretty easy, have seen them on 17s! But as everyone says it does compromise handling. 15s for a really nicely handling car?!!

A sexism quote is probably a rare valid case here,as women 'generally' tend to bend more toward comfort than men,on percentage. But they also tend to drive more basic cars,so maybe not.

Anyway,I'm no comfort seeker myself but its gotta be practical. Ramps,humpback bridges,holes etc - why should i have to slow down more for these things than at normal height? Fitting a hindrance to my car would be madness. Its a daily,there's no good breaking my back to fit in with some misguided 'dubber' category.

Here is mine on 15 X 7J G60's I also have a special set of 14X 7J's that I am referbing for this car.I can honestly say I would not go any bigger than these, as I have had to have all four arches done to fit these.
