na I'm only 19 so insurance was to high! its a 2.0 GTI 16v

not sure bout the 8v Mk2 GTI being quicker?

i think a 1.8 115bhp gti (1245kg i think) would struggle to keep up with a 160+ hp mr2 of similar weight.....assuming its the rev 2 engine on a j plate

Good Buy mate I've had two of those fantastic little cars i would have another if the sun would come for more than 5 mins T-Bar ofcourse.
