i have just taken off the door bump strips and the badges on the boot of the car.

what should i use to get the black sticky stuff off? i have used this stuff called sticky stuff remover but it has left 1 layer that will not come off.

have you pulled off the laquer by mistake aswell??

Pour petrol on a rag and rub it gently across the glue, it will eventually turn all gooey and wipe off with another rag.

It wont damage the paint, and is the quickest way to do it, but i would give the panels a good rinse down afterwards for peace of mind.

All these 'bug/tar removers' are useless for it.

one of my m8s said i should go buy a workshop rubber that u put in a drill but he hasent showne me it yet.

i used autoglym tar remover and it worked fine for me :)

hairdryer, brake cleaner and a rag worked sound on mine

Iv also used the tar remover and it worked well, not amazingly quick but it did the job!

You'll be on forever with anything else.

Nothing,and i mean nothing,removes any type of adhesive like '3M Adhesive Cleaner'. We're talking instant here,like wiping off drywipe marker. But you have to be that swift with it,as it also cleans away paint at a rate similar to acetone and cellulose thinners.

And dont go inhaling it either,else you'll wake up under a bucket of cold water. Albeit a colourful one..

The toffee wheel doesn't harm paint. Its specially made for taking stuff like that off. Its a lot safer than what mikey is suggesting if its as good as he says!

kam's right. Use nothing other than a toffee/fudge wheel.

i used white spirit and a casino card it took me 20mins per side...saying that i did leave it for a day in the rain and it seemed to soak through it abit
