What's it worth?

It's a 1272 engine from a 1985 Polo, so the early type (55bhp) which were very similar to MK1 Golfs but had autochoke. Anyway, it's only got 20k miles on from new so its uber low milage. Its had a recent service too. Completely bog standard. What would you say its worth, engine with no box?

Oh, its the GF engine code isnt it?

£50

£50 sounds about right. Supply is huge, demand is low.

Well, didn't think it'd be much tbh. Seems about right aye.

More as it is in the pic though - id suggest nearer double that for the lot, given that the box and alternator have done 20k also (Not that you can prove it).

Engine alone,id still say 50 is absolute minimum - Supply may be plenty, but supply of 20k mile early engines probably isnt.

to the right audience you will get a good price- check out mk1 golf owners club

www.vwgolfmk1.org.uk

someone on there would likely give at least one of their testicles for that engine.

Halfway tempted by this for my mk1, but then my HK's still sweet at about 170k.

Hope you don't mind if I move this for sale.

hopefully this engines sold to me :-)
