The Cars You Have And The Cars You've Owned.....

Featured Replies

What made them special to you?

I'm bored at work so thoughts going through my head lol.

I've had four cars in total since i passed my test in 2005 and each one of them has been special and would not have got rid unless I had too just be interesting to hear your stories.

My s2 106 was the car I learned in and also the car I drove in my last year of school, it was not quick but was fun due to being so light,no power steeing or ABS,also it never broke down on me once in the 31,000 miles I drove it!

I loved my BMW 318i as it was just so comfy and was just great to drive, not too powerful, RWD and could fit about 4 dead bodies in the boot lol and waht i loved about it most was that it had done just under 170,000 miles and everything ran great!

The reason the Polo GTI is special as it has introduced me into the VW scene the actual car too be honest hasn't meant as much to me as the other cars but as its my current car I'm sure that will change and possibly make me sell and buy a bigger and better dub! ;)

My favourite car i've owned though has been my old 97 Punto 1.6 Sporting, the car was not comfy, it couldn't handle and it was terribly unrealiable but there something about it that i loved, Punto's are definately not to everyones taste but IMO if styled correctly they look great. I started going with my girlfriend when I had this car, started my first real job since leaving school with this car and it also raped my bank account paying for it to get fixed all the time 8-) . My main forum I use PSC was a big help in converting me to being a Punto driver to a Punto head and I could definately see me getting another one in the short future.

Lol rambling done.

iv had 7 so far, i mostly change because i get bored or they are broken and i dont have the money to fix!

Much as I love my VW's, the best one so far's got to be the Camry.

80's car that goes and goes, drives like a modern car, is comfier than my sofa, can do 40k a year without skipping a beat and can still keep up with most cars on the road, and cost £500. What's not to like?

I hate to admit it but my first car was a Rover metro!!! (lol) but it was £200, had it for 4 years and never missed a beat! Then sold it for £350!! Ha Ha, guy who bought it must have been a complete muppet! I think if i speak for my boyfriend it would have to of been his 1965 Ford Mustang! (pic below). He sold this made a profit then bought my interior for my car and took me to New York! See what you think of it ....

I've had 10 cars so far since passing my test in 2005. Picking up number 11 tomorrow, the list goes as:

Renault Megane

Fiat Bravo

Saxo VTR

Focus

Focus

Polo Coupe

Saxo VTR

Polo 16v (Still Own)

Scirocco

Polo Coupe (Still Own)

And as of tomorrow BMW E30 325

I have to admit out of the list the car that still sticks out in my mind is the first Saxo VTR. I was careful buying it (took my time to find a good one) I got all the work done to it by professionals and had it regularly serviced. It was a good example, quick for a VTR and so much fun to drive. The valver is a very very close second.

The Mustang is mint, i would change the wheels tho imo.

then had a Citroen ax GT 5door it was an awesome car bought for £60 welded the exhaust myself got the bumpers back to red then sold it for £200 the only money i actualy spent on it was a £6 wiper blade

then got a 1.0 citroen ax. it was rubbish. never liked it only lasted about a nmonth till it started spewing oil out of the grille evry time i drove it.

then I've had my mk4 polo since april. its awesome.

Since passing in '98, I've had :

Mk2 polo bready (x2)

Ford escort 1.4i (shite - brought it for £50, worth 5p)

Ford escort 1.8 diesel (even shitter)

Polo coupe (x5)

The best one was my 1st bready. Did thousands of miles and had many a good time in it. Almost as good as my G.

i've had... a few all dubs!!

white mk 3 golf 1.4 (slow as fook)

red mk 3 polo g40. (deceased)

white mk 2 squareback (probably dead by now also)

green mk 3 polo coupe was an s.p.i, left my hands as a gt! (not a running one mind)

grey mk 3 polo g40 (still own that! back on the road after 2 years! fully restored)

black b3 passat loon. still own that! anyone wanna buy it!! lol

thats it for now.

i got a MK3 polo wen i was 16 back in 2006,

then a MK5 fiesta when i passed my test..(wish i kept the polo)

then bought a MK4 polo, kept it for a few months then took up an offer for a corsa C..

looking to get hold of a MK5 polo and a MK2 saloon.

first of all i had a corsa 1.2 16v that i kicked the shit out of. good little first car.......

DSC00326.jpg

Image016.jpg

then while i had the corsa i brought a golf 1.4 16v which is actually the slowest car built. but i loved its looks especially in white.....

Image066.jpg

i then brought my polo which i love, and its rather quick...

Image004.jpg

Image000.jpg

then i found my self with three cars so i sold the corsa as it was using alot of oil like doug's ...

then shortly after that i sold the golf which just left me with my polo.

and I'm still only 17 :D

since passing in febuary 2007...

Chitroen Saxo 1.1

Mk4 polo 1.6

Not the biggest list but the latter half is an improvement

Mattyc53 your corsa looked mint. Is beggin a 2.0l red top!

wellllll, i actually started with a 106! in fact iv had 3 (oh dear i know) but at the time i didnt know better as i had 1 for my 1st car. to be fair the quiksilver i had wasnt too bad but since getting the polo gti, i hav never looked back! german quality ftw!

Mk3 Golf Match (shed)

C+F reg coupe S now.....

my daily driver is a red lupo 1.0.i like this car, unless the gearbox sucks.so therefor i consider about buying a crashed lupo for spending some parts like the gearbox.

futhermore i´ve got two summer-cars.the one is my polo 2f qp,the other one is a lupo fsi 105 hp 16 valve with tiptronic... it rocks 8-)

then i have had a scirocco mk1 one, planned was a complete restoration and lil´pimpin.but unfortunately it was crap^^

Mattyc53 your corsa looked mint. Is beggin a 2.0l red top!

cheers, yeh i always wanted to put a redtop in it but never had the time do it.

since i passed in 2005 (i think).

1993 clio 1.2 - great car never let me down with only 35,000 odd miles when sold.

1992 Polo GT - love it to bits. Being reliable at the moment, but its been more problematic than the clio!

I've been driving just over 2 years, owned loads of cars though (all VW)

I've actually driven regurally;

mk2 golf 1.3 - which i've done a fair amount to and i love, i can't see me ever selling it because its not worth enough to outway how much i like it. Can't beat it 8-)

mk2 golf GTi 16v... fast, reliable, quite comfy. Had PAS, electric windows etc... Insurance was too high to keep and everytime i cained it i wished i was driving my 1.3.

Since passing in sept 07.

1989 bmw 316i (dead and gone)

n675300345_2116776_5525-1.jpg

Vw golf 1.4 (dads car now)

n675300345_2854186_9033.jpg

I loved the bmw, was so comfortable and relaxing to drive compared to my polo, but insurance screwed me.

I used to be a french car man...

Started...

R-reg Clio 1.2 (sold it)

P-red Clio 1.8 8v Rsi (Rally slag) (blew up  )

R-reg 106 Quiksilver 8-)

Car.jpg

Then some Very nice person pulled out on me...

Front.jpg

L-reg Clio 1.9D (took soooooo much abuse!!!! slowest car EVER!!)

M-reg Punto GT 1.4 8v Turbo (Quality car and mine was MINT :) )

H-reg Polo mk3 GT 1.3 8v (Sold to make way for...)

N-reg Polo mk4 1.4 8v :)

I've had... 6 since february when i passed my test (a few of them longer).

Locost

Polo Saloon

205 Roland Garros

205 XS

AX GT

Polo Coupe

Actually... I had all 6 for a short period of time :o Now I'm down to the 205 RG, AX GT and Locost.

Most special to me was probably the Polo 'loon as it was all my own money and time, and it looked so good. However i didn't particularly enjoy driving it.
