The Cars You Have And The Cars You've Owned.....

Featured Replies

then got a flame red clio 172 on 51 plate which is the best all round car i have owned for performance and comfort.

Then bought a house so didnt have a car for year or two then bought

6n 1.6 glx in a dark red colour? And have so far just replaced the side indicators and de badged the rear and fitted black vw badges.

Great little car though. Impressed with the build considering it's 12 year old .

Quick summary of the ones that stand out.

Mk2 Vr6 - Nice to drive, quick, but needed the handling sorting.

E28 M535i - Rude, lazy wagon, bags of torque, can drive around town at idle, quick when need be.

E30 325i Touring - No diff, very tail happy.

Scooby WRX RA - Didnt like it, gears were to short, stupid lazy engine off boost.

Merc cosworth - Lovely to drive, lovely to throw about. Mmmmm.

G40 LGP - Well balanced, 150bhp g40 on h&r, lovely to hoon about.

LHD G40 - Novelty.

G40 CS - Fun, but the cage was irritating.

Stock G40 - So easy to rally around, minimal fear of g40 death.

I've had 2 while learning and 0 since I passed my test (after about 5 months lessons)....

- 1998 red Rover 200 1.4 8v, lowered 35mm and was going on 17" MG ZR wheels until my sister (also a learner) crashed it...... she still never paid me back, f*ck it, was only a Rover lol. Nice little car though.

- 1992 steel blue VW Polo CL Coupe, lowered 70mm on PhilJ kit, 14" BBS RJ's, and lots of subtle little mods (grille, indicators etc)...... great big MOT fail for rust underneath the sills. It's in my mate's garage as he wants to weld it when he gets time, while it was in there I fixed up the front wings and debadged the bootlid..... only chance I'll ever see it again is if I pay to have it resprayed, I love steelblue.

P.S. 2 people asked about Grungeisdead's green mk1, there was a thread on here about it, was either a petrol or electrics fire that ended it.

i want this in my life

that is the mutts nuts! i want that car! i had to rebuild a box for a black one before, the thing was a giant and had a column shift but was lhd :(

Polo was my first car, decided to go VW after having to drive crappy Corsa B's and C's whilst learning

Scirocco is technically my fourth car, but only the second I can use

  • 2 weeks later...

1972 VW campervan (1st car- more filler than steel, tuned 1641, driven like a rally car, massive speakers- think Libyan terrorists from Back to the Future, but with a sound system)

1992 Honda Civic (Bought off my mum, little Red 16valve, I loved this car, it was pretty nippy, ended it's life on the M56 on the way to a BMX comp...)

1996 Honda Civic (I loved this even more- it was a nice 3door, VTEC, quite quick. Written- off by out- of- control milk float in the middle of the night- yeah, I laughed too...)

1995 Honda Civic (Absolute skip, but a useful workhorse, bought for £800 using some of the insurance from the last one. Filled it with rubble using a spade when I did- up my last house- drove to the tip and dug- it out... My missus killed this by driving it into the back of a BMW M3 in Chester...)

1998 Jaguar XJ8 (Bought for my 30th, lovely to drive, but the V8 howl was too addictive, and I couldn't get my bike in the boot...)

1992 Polo. This is me now...

That's all in 13 years!

BMW E30 Touring which is awaiting a 2.5 or 3.5 engine conversion and it will be my daily in september when I'm 19 :-D .

what was the tt supra lyke, any pics of your 996?

I'm sure these pictures have uploaded this time, alot of my pics are all over 10million pixels and will not load up. These are from my phone.

Getting back to the supra ownership best car I've ever owned rather it than the Porsche its just the Porka has more of a presence on the road not only that there is no end to tuning a twin turbo supra must of spent 30k on it and would still easily spend a grand a month on it. Its a love thing :-D

I really tried uploading some supra pics but due to the metal flake paint job all the sparkles are proving difficult to shrink

sick porsche, supra sounds better though
