which company to go for insurance? any experience? thanks

Adrian Flux were cheaper for me, good service and cover all mods. Also got unlimited mileage policy on my Polo which is all good :-D

for me flux have always been more expensive than HIC, id try brentacre to be honest as they had some good policies, the only reason i didn`t go with them was because thier offfice was closed when i needed to take out the policy

I've found out about Brentacre as well its them or HIC!

depends what sort of mods you doing? my mx5 is with adrian flux, and you can do pretty much anything you want with them. its an import and they wernt bothered at all for example.

my 6n is with diamond (formerly elephant) and they have been fine with me putting alloys on and lowering.

HIC want £25 admin fee when you add a mod i heard ? and wanted an extra £400 from me to declare a remap on the TT so i switched to Brentacre who were cheaper than HIC were with a 280bhp limit

they're absolutely spot on with price(beatin competitor everytime) and offer legal assistance FOC, although you may not need this, I've had to use it 2 times now from 2 seperate people going in to me and all my mods are covered unless its a mod that increases bhp, also get a discount from Club Polo too :-)

legal assistance is the biggest waste of money ever:-

if you need to claim "no win no fee" is available everywhere

and if someone claims on you, your insurance bats your side....

so the free legal cover from a broker is just a way of them making money from your claim...

I've had a few troubles with flux regarding them not taking any money off me then months down the line demanding loads at once. But that's the only problem I've had with them.

I got that much of a cheap quote from them, when other companies asked for my cheapest quote they laughed and said no chance. they covered me TPFT, unlimited mileage, recovery and legal cover for all of £1,560 ish.

That's stupidly high but compared to the 3K quotes I got off most other companies it was awesome.

1st year of driving at 19 on a 1.3 MK3 coupe genesis.

Chances are ill be sticking with them again unless i get a considerably cheaper quote elsewhere. But I reckon if I did flux would try to match it anyways.

adrian flux = no way lol wanted £3000 for a standard glanza v woth nice area to live in and 1 year no claims. lol, they aren't very good at taking peoples money it seems.

Normally the 1st thing on there mind. they 'forgot' to set my direct debit up with me. so i told them and they said they'd sorted it but they still never took anything.

then months down the line when they asked for the full price. I rang and asked what had happened and apparently the details I gave them were wrong. so instead of telling me they just let it go on and on until their 'accountants' realized that I hadn't given them any money (6 months into being insured).

There recovery is good though. got recovered from bugjam for free (well, the £45 or whatever I paid)

Got to me quick and no messing about with me having to pay the recovery people and then claim back off the insurance.

I wish, It would be so easy then. Sadly there is a lot more to it then that as we are the brokers we need to do a lot of paperwork etc.

I was with flux for my first year and they over halved my renewal after the first year, then I phoned HIC for quote and they asked who had quoted me before so I said flux and the guy said we can't beat them and hung up with no sorry or anything (twats). So I phoned brentacre and got a quote and it was only about £100 more for a 100bhp limit policy which works out cheaper than flux in the end as brentacre don't charge you any additional fees aslong as you don't go over the 100bhp mark so you can phone them up and say I want to declare a 4 branch or chip and they will say "OK thanks for telling us" Job done no admin fees
