hi i have just brought some new component speakers for the front of my 6n2, and i want to run new better quality speaker wire to them from my head unit and i am wondering how run the wire through the black rubber tube that goes between the car and the door as i have just dicovered its a solid plastic connection block?

hey m8 basically i did exactly the same thing new components and wanted to amp em up, Unless u wna drill holess u cant run the speaker wire through the doors ! best way to do it is use the existing wire running from the loom behind you are H/U to the speaker location and extend those using you are speaker cables to you are boot if that makes sense. you might be worried that the standard wire isnt good enough but honestly its fine. I've got a set of inifinity kappa 65.7 and powering them with 100wrms a channel and they are mindblowing!! hope this helps pm me if u need any other advice with you are install

Yes you can run speaker wire through the doors, there is plenty of room, take off the rubber cover that is around the wires(on the door) and you'll see holes, you'll be able to run around 5 or 6 wires through there easily mate, i can verify this as i installed Remote central locking and on the driver side you have around 7 cables to run through the door!! where as on the passenger side you only need 2 so you wont have a problem running 2 wires through there, providing it isnt monster cable

I agree you can see the wires but the wires are connected wire a loom which is a plug going into the car, unless you wanted to drill through there, ther is a tiny amount of space enough for say 16 guage speaker wire ( with some drilling) wudnt reli recomend this to be honest as we spent a fair bit of time deciding which method was better. But speaking from exp i would run em off the existing wiring then extend it from the back of the headunit wiring, ull have to run you are Rca's neway.

so i need to run my speaker cables from my amp in the boot to the back of my head unit and connect my new speaker cable to the existing? what should i do with the front speaker cables that come out of my headunit as surely power will still be running through them?
