for number plates wrong font and being pressed :( £30 fine

gutted you deserve it as they were illegal, got pulled for having my plate in the window, told them id put it back on when i got home and i was on my way

Yeah i got pulled for mine last week mate,

I was a bit luckier than you and got told to change them,

They do UK legal pressed now so i'm looking into getting some of those!

Think I'll change mine back just to be on the safe side.

laws like plate rules are to

catch people with no insurance, avoiding mots, driving death traps around....

lol i've been done for mine twice an warned about twice too, once from a po-po on horseback!

I don't see why you need anything but standard plates for use on the road? its just a visual thing and to be honest a standard plate doesn't look bad. You just attract unwanted police attention by running illegal plates.

I dont disagree with you on that... i dont see why either, but just cos i dont .... doesnt mean that i think other people shouldnt have the option... there are obvious reasons for having a plate which is ledgible and of a suitable size... but fining people for having something other than the EXACT ordinary is a slippery slope... just winds me up when people start regurgitating this sort of bollox they chat about how its " protecting the law abiding road users"

i think pressed german plates look shit anyway. When i had to put new British plates on instead of german ones i realised how much smarter a good, clean set of brit ones look. they're smoother too :grin:

even a snapped one is a fail

even the space between the letters & numbers must be right

one of the reasons why they are so bothered about illegal number plates is because speed cameras cant pick them up, so I'm told!!

Proberly couldnt be assed failing you just for plates, it just uses up more time and doesnt get him anymore money.
