How To Go About It

Featured Replies

hi :-D

this has been racking my head all day. recently passed my test :-D (happy days), looking into getting my little cheap 6N (before jumping in MK2 Golf after a couple years, fingers crossed :-D ...)

done my search and found a couple i like, looked through insurance quotes and all so its all good. here is my problem (you can't drive without insurance i get it) looking at a car 9 miles away [at the moment], how do i get it back to my place (please don't laugh)?

temp insurance [age is right but don't meet the minimum requirement for the license held]

don't have anyone who can drive the car back, who can at least qualify for a temp insurance

and how can you get insurance on car you don't own?

guess i could tow it back (last resort (to cheap) but willing pay if no other solution), or buy it, leave it, insure it then collect (have trust issues)...

so was wondering if there is anyway around this that i have missed? sorry if this is a stupid question or posted in the wrong area :-D

thanks

As soon as it's signed over, it's your car, so can be insured on this basis, just tell the insurance you're buying it and they'll sort it out.

thanks makes a little more sense, so could get a quote [with intention to buy (insurance)] after car purchase "signed over" call insurer and will be insured from that point on.

You insure it from the day your collecting the car from wherever it is - simple as really :-)
