Sell Or Swap?

Featured Replies

my ibiza cupra (200bhp) has been for sale for over a month now, i traded it for my old polo up to the value of 4k and have spent 2k on it in the 3 months i've owned it.

i've been offered a few swaps for it but no real buyers so do i hold out for a sale or swap it?

on the table are;

poss polo 20vt

Euro lupo 50k 53 reg TDI

high spec mk2 golf vr6 oak green 1990

jas's 9n polo 1.2

bora tdi (53 plate i think)

the reason i'm considering swaps is i've thrown alot of cash at the ibiza and i'm getting more skint on the lead up to chrismas. before i sell it i'm going to need to spend another £250 on a maf and brakes. i'm leaning towards the sensible lupo tdi but the boy in me wants a fast polo.

Get the Lupo and remap it, it'll still be pretty quick with the added bonus of mpg

ohyea, the lupo is white, smoothed, lowered, mapped, satin black roof and running p slots in satin black with white lip. but 3 cylinder??

Same engine as in my Polo bud, don't worry about it being a 3 cyl, mine's mapped at about 110bhp and 190 lb/ft, put that in a Lupo (which is about 100kg lighter) it'll fly!

bora TDI and get it remapped i recon!

OR the VR golf then charge it 8-)

surely a polo 20vt will be the same as you have now?

hmm, the ibiza contrary to popular belive is actually based on a mk2/3 golf rather than a polo. it does use a few polo parts though.

the ibiza i think can take the power better but is a fraction heavier. i'm just not keen on the three grills of the ibiza.

i built a mk2 vr6 before and sold it for £500 so not sur i want another one for that money....

btw anyone thinking of 20vt'ing their mk2/3 golf the ibiza uses all the stock mounts, same subframe, rack and wishbones. (wish i'd known that before i'd sold my old mk3 gti or golf rallye)
