I ordered a new rear wiper from wiperblades.co.uk on Sunday. It arrived today and I went to replace the old one. However the fitting seems different, the old one was held on with a screw and a nut, but the new one doesn't have a hole for the screw to go in.

Have I been sent the wrong wiper or is my rear wiper non-standard?

I'll get some pics taken now.

I assume from the lack of replies most people have de-wipered.

The picture of the rear arm seems to show a rusted self tapping screw in place. I can only assume the arm has been broken and pikey repaired or that an arm from another car has been bodged on.

Your options are:

1. buy a new arm with correct fitting and replace (10min job) ??second hand. A new one is about £17 from VW.

2. bodge new wiper onto arm with self tapping screw.

I would go for option 1.

Cheers for the reply. I was hoping that I had received the wrong wiper, oh well, off the scrappys I go.

Is there any pics of the factory fit wiper arm around? I don't want to go getting another 'bodged job' from a scrapped car.
