Not as good as James Bonds.

They flip too slow to suddenly hide it when you can't slow down

I was going to buy a 2nd hand one for £50, too expensive for a manual one! Only wanted it so I could hide it for shows and leave the rear bumper smooth instead of adhesive pads or screw holes.

Can I mount the Plate Flipper on the front of my car?

Yes. The Plate Flipper can be mounted on the front of your vehicle. However it was not designed to be mounted on the front of the vehicle. During testing the Plate Flipper can with stand frontal winds of up to 35 mph. At more than 35 mph the plate is not able to flip down due to the wind speed. If the plate is in the down position it can with stand winds in excess of 65 mph.

so you could be bombing it and then want to flip you are plate down but you can't because of the speed you'll be doing. that's a bugger isn't it LOL

So really, its pointless haha

Sure is!

I could make one, much better. It'd be a Toblerone job like Bonds. I know the plates of two other comet blue Coupe S's..

The front bumper is ideal, and the back wouldn't be too hard either. Hmm.. ;)

I got big brakes, so i can slow down faster than if i'd of pressed the button. Plus then you've not got the risk of it going tits up and you getting points.

u not read about that guy who took his plates off, and a sign in his window saying f**k off speed cameras, then burning through a load of them lol

legend, shame he did it in a rare car and was found out straight away... haha

:)

Also IIRC it is classed as 'perverting the course of justice' Which they can rape you for if they want to.

friend had a home brewed rotating one james bond styley, had 3 different cRApi plates on the back, was mint, took him about 15 minutes and a fiver to build and get working, was a simple spindle through the middle, each "plate face" had a small tag in the corner, and they were weighted, when you press a button an electro magnet shut off, aloud the tag to fall through and then the next plate face would catch the magnet and bobs you uncle!

thats a magnet aint it?

This is far better and a lot faster. lol

So's a motorbike.

Only works on forward facing cameras though.

Just don't speed XD

I don't get this worldwide 'plot' to beat some metal signs with '30' stuck on them. The system is there, nobody will ever completely beat it, and those who think they've come anywhere close beating it are just leaping out of the legal realm and into the 'killing-you-or-someone-else' realm. It's become an obsession.

Track days aren't just something to fill a gap in the advertising page of your local paper, they're there to be used for the real drivers out there

Not like this is the first time you've all heard this

Happy new year!

I have no problem at all with speed cameras in 30s, if anything, I think there should be more.

It's the national speed limit ones I hate with a proper vengeance...

I'd always be worried about relying on this little flipper thing not working, or getting jammed or whatever. Would never trust it, or anything else to obscure my plate for that matter - reflective spray for example. It's all a waste of money. Just use the anchors effectively ;)

I don't think people are rebelling against speed limits and rules. There needs to be laws to stop people getting killed, but the problem with speed cameras is they asses a few yards of your driving and convict on the basis of whether you were within 10% of a speed limit. Which isn't really that much. I think the cause of most accidents is people not paying attention, or driving in a very agressive way (tailgating). Speed cameras can't stop this. I agree, a driving not paying attention at 100mph is more dangerous than a driver not paying attention at 30mph. I don't think I've ever seen one by a school. There's no need for them to be on motorways or big wide open roads. Speed cameras in these place = revenue earner. http://www.speedcam.co.uk/ this site shows some really dodgy speed camera locations.

Opinion: Expressed

Lecture: Over

Mission: Complete

There is no point putting them by schools, The kids dont have liscences so you cant fine them.

Or you could learn to anticipate when a speed camera is near... Pretty much every village you enter has a speed limit sign with a 'speed camera' sign underneath it, even if one doesnt exist. Speed cameras are usually in places where it would be stupid to be speeding anyway.

Another vid of what somebody else posted

cant you just drive everywhere at 186mph or whatever the figure was? (Top Gear FTW)
