Driving back home just now i was coming along this great bit of straight 2 lane road but you could get 4 cars wide (Naturally this is one of those big private roads talk about with no houses etc ).

There was nothing coming the other way and there was 5 pos 7 cars in front of me with a lorry at the very front doing 50-60mph so i decided i would overtake them all in one go, so i floored it in 3rd up to 90mph then into forth and got passed all the them except one car and the lorry, as i pass the 2nd behind the lorry the person at the front now decides to pull out in front of me. I couldn't really do much as i was going around 105-110mph so luckly there was enough room to overtake the person overtaking the lorry - obviously whilst on the horn/brakes as i thought it was game over.

Got past them and pulled back in and they flashed me? But surely it was their fault? I even had my lights on.

But, if i had gone into the back of them what would have happened to do with insurance, police etc??

Would i be at fault doing 110mph on a 60mph road? or them for not looking when pulling out??

Of course you would be at fault if your doing 110 mph and a queue of 6 cars witness you plouging into the back of another car.

Yes the person was a dick for puilling out when your tanking it, but its hard to percieve speed through a side mirror and you dont expect people to be doing 110.

Police if they had seen you would have owned you for speeding, driving without due care and attention (could have been anything in front of the lorry on the other side of the road, he may have been going slow for another lorry which you may not have been able to slip behind after overtaking your original set of cars and lorry.

and to swerve and overtake and overtaking car, thats got driving dangerously written all over it.

personally, delete this thread as its got incriminating evidence all over it (admissions of speed) and basically slap yourself on the wrist and dont do it again you muppet

and fault depends on whether they pulled out on you intentionally, or didnt check their mirrors properly. i dont think it would be unreasonable to assume that if a car is on the other side of the road when you check your mirrors and overtake that you should stay in lane untill the car has passed

they may have looked in there mirror before pulling out and thought hes miles away and if he was doing 60mph (speedlmit) i have time to pull out next thing they no you are on top of them because they dident gess you would be doing 110 in a 60 lol wb

You'd likely have been nicked for dangerous driving,along with excessive speed and a few others that would possibly have seen you imprisoned,not to mention too strongly the possibility of death by dangerous driving.

Anyone driving in traffic,alongside such hazards,at nearly double the speed limit,really needs a spell in a mental institution - serious rehab required.

Especially in that situation - i could see exactly what was gonna happen before id read the outcome,if someone cant identify hazards like that then they shouldn't be on the road at any speed.

Good point,because many dont. But not only do i look behind before ever pulling out,anywhere,at any speed,i do so by looking over my shoulder. Mirrors,i take with a pinch of salt.

And I'm always prepared for others pulling out - you get some seriously dodgy lane changing antics in this town of roundabouts.

So of course its experience. But its also common sense.

It was way to close for my liking, so I'm definately taking shit on board and not going to try that again (Esp with the amount of petrol i used).

its all about the situation, if you knew there was nothing coming as its a mile of straight road, fair play imho. Still, technically you were in the wrong but everyones gone a bit too fast now and again I'm sure... just take it on board and be aware that going that fast into the back of someone you're dead!

i check both rearview and over sholder. too many people sit in blind spots in MK so you learn fast.

Most i'd consider having an over taking attempt, which isn't usual, is like 3 cars.
