my windscreen washers have been frozen for like 2 weeks now and still don't work. how do i go abouts fixing it? i was hoping for it to melt out gradually but didn't work.

Any ideas?

They're probably just blocked,and a strand of wire from a wire wheel is ideal at unblocking them.

But if you're in Lapland and do have a permanently frozen washer system,remove the bottle,pipes,jets and motor and put them on the kitchen side overnight. Fit them in the morning,fill with winter screenwash,job done.

my mk2 had heated jets...

unblock using thin wire, then change fluid for 50/50 screenwash, shouldnt freeze up so much then.

Anyone who ordered a mk4 polo from the dealership with the "Winter Pack" got heated washer jets and fog lights. Open your bonnet and have a look at the underside of your washer jets. Are there any wires running to them (not tubes, wires)? If so, chances are, you have heated washer jets, and like the heated mirrors in most mk4 polos, they operate when you switch on the heated rear screen.

i have heated washers on mine and around 10:1 screenwash acts as a de icer to lol

Heated washers were optional on some 6n's as far as i know..

might give my dealer a ring....

my old 6n defo didnt have heated washer jets

always used to be frozen in the winter mornings and would take untill id driven to college to thaw out haha

Ok first get an airline and blow threw the jets on the bonnet or where ever they are.

If that don't work take te pump out the bottom of the washer bottle, all the water will come out but don't worrie.

then there is a small filter where the pump goes take this out and clean it, it usually has gunky shit on there which block it up.

I doubt it would be frozen for that long, if your certain its frozon, drain the water in the washer bottle and replace it with warm to hot water and try it.

Make sure the right mixture of water ad screen wash is in there, I'm sure screen wash stop freezing.

Not too hot, like from a kettle. you might damage somthink....so don't hold me liable LOL

mine used to freeze up on the GT

i just went without them till the heat off the engine melted the ice.....

i had the correct mixture, even more concentrated in winter

just ice froze over the nozzles

blow torch tbh

My washer mixture is neat!! Lol. Mega clean windows and never freezes!

i find my door seals freeze the doors shut before the washer fluid stops working!
