Problem sorted,

sounds like dirty throttlebody syndrome to me! when they get dirty the idle stepper motor struggles to adjust, this causes the idle to fluctuate.

clean it out with some carb cleaner, but be carefull as you are supposed to get the throttle body reset after cleaning.

Well i've cleaned the throttle body and inlet manifold and the problem still remains,

I've dosconnected the battery 3 hours ago so i'm gonna wait for another hour and see how it runs after the ECU has been reset - fingers crossed!

could be something like a MAF. Get it plugged in and read for fault codes.

i would say its your throttle body gasket

I have the same problem and still not found whats wrong!.

I think the culprit is an air leak in one of the vaccum pipes but still not found where grr but if it helps check them over.

i had this problem on my 6n2 1.4 16v, still have it in fact, took it to my local garage and they said its the idle control valve thats fucked...
