does anyone no if a g40 engine has been put in a mk4 polo before? what is involved? is it worth doing or a waste of time?

yes - i have one. It involves cutting the front chassis leg and welding a peice in to take the g40 mount.

I'm selling my shell if you are interested.

corners and brakes better. but i love mk3s!

like pete says definatly corners an brakes better but i think they feel alot stronger and that little extra weight makes them smoother and nicer to drive although you sacrafice a bit of acceleration over a similarly tuned mk3.I've never like mk3s there so sloppy but had 5 g40s as i loved the engine so this was the perfect compromise for me

i'd love to G40 the other halfs 6n as its only a 999cc and shes already craving the extra power! Maybe when I've researched into it some more.
