Declaring All Mods.. With Quinn..

Featured Replies

Renewed my insurance with Quinn yesterday, £1300 for my second year of driving..

Was on the phone to them though, really sound guy, basically, i only have to declare performance based mods, ie. the coilies.

He said i dont have to declare anything else, cosmetic or anything, as it's not covered, so it wouldnt affect my policy.

Good and bad i think, my mods wont be covered if i were to claim, but I'm only third party fire and theft, and ill only get book price, which he worked out to about £900.

So i can do anything to the body or interior and it wont affect my policy cause they only cover standard spec.

Quinn: highly recomended

if thats what they say, fair enuf. but I'm very suprised.

Would be worth double checking that and make sure it is recorded on your policy in small print somewhere. better to have it in writing than have a crash and only defense you got is 'the guy on the phone says its cool'

if its genuine tho you got a corker.

yeah he's right i went with quinn in my first year of insurance and the're pretty good, only reason i left was because of an uber renewal quote when i had my 1.6 6n lol. i think in their pack there is a small print somewhere about mods but you are right, any performance mods MUST be declared otherwise other random bits are fine.

^^ How come?

By far the cheapest for my second year, the nearest to that, for my car modded, was £1860..

I'll check all the small print when it comes through, but it seems all good.

i found them to have bad custemer service plus they tryed to rob me of my no claims bonus

I tried quinn on a couple of occasions and they just seem to pull a price out of thin air as the difference varies a lot, wanted £2000+ for my GT when it was standard

quinn wanted 1900 for my 1.3 golf and I'm 19 with 1ncb

Hit and miss eh?

i got a renewal quote on my GT, 19 with 2 year no claims @ £750

let the policy lapse, got a quote as a new customer and they wanted £1750 on the GT with same details :-/

Usually for non-performance mods Adrian Flux is awesome.

They have a certain age I believe though before you get a decent price.

However, they let you declare any cosmetic modifications and if I remember rightly, my friend was allowed to have performance mods which bring the car up to 150bhp and no more. If it was over, it would have been void.

I'm with quinn and haven't had any problems.

My first year at 18 with no ncb was £1400 on my 306 1.9 D Turbo

Second year on my 1.4 cl 6n cost me about £600

Other bonus is you can ring up and get two weeks temporary cover on another car for free, just say yours is in for repair.

But have read bad write ups on them.

they wanted 2900 off me for my first year, third party fire n theft for a standard 1.4cl 6n

I've heard there good though

apart from that quote...

gona try them next year
