New Car?

Featured Replies

Ok, so I got another credit card so I could get 14 months interest free on my balance transfers to give me more time to pay off some of my debt... But now I wanna use the 2K card I've just cleared to buy a new car and have now spent my last working day of 2008 looking at another G40, MK1 track cars, 16 valvers, caddys, MK2 drivers because they make me go hubba hubba, Rallye and R33s [hey, a girl can dream], pulsars, crx, del sols...

I don't know how long I'm going to be able to stop myself before I give in and buy another car as my daily :?

I need a turbo in my life tbh :smirk:

I'd be sensible and pay off the debt really.

Go a year or so with just the G40 and get yourself back into the black and save for another car at the same time. Once your back on track and got enough saved for another car get one then. Just think youd feel alot better about yourself having two nice cars and no debt, than having two nice cars and paying out money each month to a credit card that could be used on the cars.

I'd go for a R33 gts my mate brought one for £2300 import obviously they really arnt to expensive. But then again it is nice not to owe any money to people.

Your choice.

Haven't you got a 1l as your daily? I'd get back in the black - considering the fact you already have a G40... you greedy er person...

Knowing its yours? Priceless.

True

Maybe have a word with the bank and get a nice overdraft, they work just the same as a loan but not paying a heap of interest, my brother did that.

But to be honest, just pay off the debt and save and scrimp and be a cheapskate, then the G40 will come to you.... ;)

Any debt just now = giant fail. You should have enough savings to sustain yourself for 6months with no earnings, forget cars and sort the mess out I say.

Did that more than once and it paid off, Literary

Just spent a bit of money on my cavalier getting a new head gasket plus had to get the head skimmed too so I will have a nice solid 1.8i 8v engine when my mate has put the engine back together :-D

clear the debt 1st

lol says me whos about to get a 4k loan :D

Get shut of the debt, Dont forget that buying another car is often only the start of the spending! And it could well prevent you from being able to afford future repayments, and you dont want to hae to sell a car on in this economic climate!

a Del Sol??? Theres the girly girl side to you right there

Pay off the debts... best thing you'll ever do IMO

I've decided to hold fire, G40 and my polo shall be kept for now but just got a new flat, so think I'll be getting rid of the daily soon as there's no way i can afford to run two and my G40 will reluctantly become my one and only car

oh no she dai aint! :x:-p

you can take advantageof the poor economy at the momet if your clever and know what your doing. Especially if your in a line of work wher it remains relatively uneffected by a change in economy. One of the best accounts currently is a student account as thats interest free for 3-4 years. so if you fancy enrolling....? . Just make sure its a fixed interest and not variable because the way things are going, they could shaft you. At the end of the day you only live once... bla bla bla and its your decision.

Surely it would make more sense to sell the G40 and pay off your debts? Yes they are a relatively rare car but not particularly special or difficult to get hold of as long as you are willing to pay. Keep the 1.0 and pay off your debt. It will cost fuck all to run and never need maintenance. Buy another G40 when you are out of debt and can afford it.

That would be my take on things.

*awaits floras epic reply on how long she has wanted one and it would be a major sacrifice to get rid now*:-p

That wasn't my definition of scat

You teach me something new every time we speak dear

Actively getting in debt in a recession as major as this is about as good an idea as soaking yourself in petrol before going on a guided tour of active volcanoes.

Yeah, if all goes as well as you'd want it to then you'll be okay, but if anything at all should go wrong you've deliberately fucked yourself up, and bigtime.
