hiya folks...hope sum1 out there can help...my 1.3 ADX engine stutters and cuts out after 20 or so seconds when left to tickover....when being driven she is ok apart from the odd loss of power now and then.....I tried a new blue water temp sensor, plugs, dizzy cap and checked vacuum pipes....HELP

could be the ignition system - plugs,coil, dizzy cap etc

the throttlebody could also be the cause, as they can wear out and not work properly.

make sure the throttle cable isnt too tight aswell as if it doesnt make the plunger thingy (dont know the real name of the part!) the car wont idle.

also on the side of the t/body there is a black lid with four torx screws, this sets the throttle position sensor for the t/body. its says not to adjust it in manuals, but i had to do this when i fitted a 1300 t/body to a 1 litre to get the idle right. slack the screws of and move the black part untill the idle is correct, then tighten the screws up (the holes in the black bit are slotted, to alow adjustment! do not remove it completely, else you'll knacher it)

Thanks for the info....shes starts 1st touch of the key and then nearly a min later stutters and dies...she will start straight after this and then do the same thing ...No faults came up when we plugged in a VAG dyno tester...

I've fitted a new lambda sensor today and its sorted it ..........£70 but worth it ..
