The car had a service about 2K miles ago which cost a little over £300. It had the usual oil/filter change. It also had a new cambelt and steering rack as the bearings on the old one had collapsed. This has made the steering a lot lighter which is great, as I'm sure most of you know mk1's seem to have a tendency to have heavy steering.

The paint/bodywork is in good condition for its age. There are only a few stone chips on the sill trims/skirts, the front edge of the bonnet and recently the front bumper. Most of the bad bits were sorted out in september when I had both bumpers fully resprayed including the number plate being smoother on the front bumper, a small patch on the passenger side A-pillar, the top half of the boot and along the edge of the drivers door. I will mention the car was originally Alpine White, as that is the paint code in the boot, and under the carpets and in the wheels arches the colour is white. The rest of the car is dark blue including the engine bay. So unless you strip the interior out or clean the arches you wouldn't notice :lol:

The interior is in very good condition for it's age, the only two faults are the usual wear on the driver's seat and the carpet in the passenger footwell seems to have had it's edging strip torn away as it is frayed and doesn't line up with the door as it should.

I have some history with the car. I have the MOT's from 1998 where the mileage was only 46K (average of 3K a year!). Also the car is originally an 'A' reg, but a old owner must have changed it to the current irish style plate.

The bad bits which I was hoping to get sorted for the spring:

The engine does use a small amount of oil and water. I have never let either run low. Basically there is some oil seeping out of a sensor connection above the oil cooler, and the water is dribbling out where the plastic manifold joins the head (who thought putting metal and plastic together was a good idea?). These aren't hard fixes.

There is a small hole in the spare wheel well that needs welding up. The car passed the MOT with it, and it hasn't got any worse since I have had the car.

The heater's don't work, haven't since I have owned the car.

The interior light only works when you switch it on, not when you open the door.

The passenger seat has no position mechanism fitted to it. For some reason the previous owner decided to dismantle it. At the minute the seat is only fixed in by the bolt at the front but is free to slide about. I have all of the bits to put it back together.

I think thats all of it, now for the price. I was thinking of selling the car in the spring with most of the bad bits sorted for about £2300/2400. But if someone wants it now as it is I was thinking £2000.
