Right then i thought id sort my reg plate ligths out as mine kept shorting out on the crash barrier.

I've heard a few peoples car doing it so I'm gunna help you out!

Dont see why it carnt be done with coupe and sqaures either?

also ignor the blue lights had these already at home, i were just seeing weather they worked as reg plates lights should be gettin white soon

the things you need?

strip of bight LEDs (maplins sell these)

solder/soldering iron

hot glue gun

glue sticks

at least 10 metres of wire

pliers/wire strippers

reg plates sticky foam fixers

zip ties

1. get the strip of LEDs and cut it to the size you need (you can only cut next to the positve and negative bits are)

2. solder a 4 metre long wire to the end of the LED strip one to the positive and one to the negative (at the same side)

like this;

3. next you want to water proof the strip to prevent shorting out, hot glue gun over the termanals where the wires are ment to connect and where the mini LEDs and mini resistors are soldered also glue over the soldered wire connections (also check under the strip, mine had bare connectors under too)

4. now you want get you sticky foam fixers and cut little bits off and stick to the underside of the strip of LEDs

like this;

5. peal the other side of and stick to you boot lid/boot plinth where ever you fell fit or seems correct to you

6. now find your orignal reg plate wires and chop them solder the other end of your wires to the wires that come from the main power source

7. turn lights on and see it you LEDs work

8. now zip tie your wires in decent places so they look nice and not dangleing everywhere

9. wait till its dark and see the results

mine could do with a quick moving around to get perfect and like i said soem white LEDs

10. on saloons smooth out the reg plate light holes witch ill be doing soon

that's never going to pass an mot, they're supposed to light the number plate up. Or are you planning on replacing with high intensity white bulbs?

i just had them blue ones from what i used on my computer

i just used them to see if it works for now

like i said they need moving around abit and i need white ones
