Why Can I Not Wire Up A Sub?

right this is twice this hasnt happened now, sub and amp work fine, got the pwer supply to the battery really good connection, ground is to the cars common earth point in the boot, remote is wired up, preouts are in the right 'colours', stereo is working, all fuses are fine, turn it all on, even the car, and nothing, no power to the amp.

have you checked that you have got 12v+ at the amp positive terminal and also 12v+ on the remote in when the h/u is on

duno what you mean lol but i do think it is to do with remote lead, didnt think it had to be a certain type it just turns the amp doesnt it? can you elaborate please lol

basically you need to find on the back of your stereo on the wiring loom if the wire the remote wire is connected to is actually live or dead,

its not happening lol I'm just getting steadily more annoyed and breaking things lol ill take it allout and start again everything i have don eis live btw jamesb but thanx for your help.

Grab a multimeter and check you've got power coming through.

Had a similar problem with mine, try using a piece of your remote wire, and bridge across the live/remote terminals, that way the amp will get the remote signal from the battery. If this works, you know the problem lies with the remote wire itself.

now then mate if u havnt sorted it yet find the main live wire to the back of your sterio and branch of thet in ti a switch then to you are amp as i had to do that to get mine to work
