I was doing some quotes today and heres the lo-down.

After crash i lost 2 no-claims cost me (insureance) £800

After entering all the info - Quinn wanted £4k! - i left them as after my accident they wanted £1600 TPTT i thought sod that so i canceled it.

after doing a a few more Tesco wanted: £1300 (excess - 900!) and the others wernt better yet going back 4/5 months i got a quote from Elephant for

which i think was an absolute bargin so iv managed to get back on the site and got it activated because it did expire... so I'm going to try keep it alive till i can insure car again.... but doing the quotes today i couldnt even get Elephant on confused/tesco compare.... i mean what a load of bollox

guys recomend some more insureances i tried brentcare they wantd £1400, or should i take a leap and jump with Elephant it seems like abargin!

How do you mean 'reactivated'? Surely that quote was before you lost your 2 years NCB?

As asked, is the Elephant quote taking into account the crash and the lose of no claims?? If so then I'd take it 'cause you ain't gonna get better.

I'm with ASDA for £175 for the 16v but then I'm an old git with full no claims and no accidents. The old beetle costs me £99 inc euro and UK breakdown, agreed £6.5k value, unlimited mileage etc and it's tax free :-D

i just had a quote for the valver with adrian-flux £741 thats with all the bells and whistles brake down cover and what not

the club polo discount has saved me £160!!!!! go on club polo :-D

sorry i mean when u do a quote u usually get so many days to take up the offer before it expires but luckly for me they let me do it again "amened details" and i got the same price again and yes it includes a FULL Claim of 700 and my 2 yrs "lost" no-claims :(

the range of prices you get when you ring around is mental. at the moment i am with diamond for the polo (its a branch of admiral i think, the same as elephant, i could be wrong tho) and before that i was with elephant, and they seemed cheap. never renew with them tho, its cheaper to refuse the renewal, then on the day you run out go on their website and get a new policy. lots cheaper.

the missus mx5 is with adrian flux, i have never tried them for the polo, but for the imports they seem very reasonable.
