Hiya guys

having successfully removed 2 out of 2 rear windows from mk3 boot lids I have come to put the one i am using back on after the respray.

NOW! as you all probably know its bonded in and in removing the window have cut the seal out of it.

BUT! the seal I cut out has a rather neat profile and the edges of it are obviously not just a tube of sealant!

So what did hold the back window in?

Is there a seal I buy to put around the window before I bond it? or do I just bond it?

anybody have any issues putting one back in?

Or did anyone find it quite pain free?

when i fitted my rear screen back in, i just used normal window bonder, the glass over hangs where the sealer is applied so it doesn't need to be 100% neat, there is however a seal that runs along the bottom of the screen, due to me removing the rear spolier i just mounted the rear screen lower on the boot lid and made the spolier blank sit lower, you could do the same if your keeping the spolier, as i'm sure the spoiler will cover the gap?

No the spoiler has been binned, I'm going to use a blank in the shape of the spoiler to make up the top of the bootlid.

So - just position the window where its going/mark it out. and get the bonding sealant applied to the back of the window and throw the window at the bootlid
