that makes me feel better!

Lol, i'm not old like you guys, i'm still learning

what about that guy who was doing a camper resto and found copious amounts of weed in the bus!

A french car company that needed to display the 200 cars it had to build to qualify for a race series got all 50 cars that it had built and lined them up in a row. When the inspector arrived at the facytory the company took him out to lunch and got him rather drunk!! When they went back to the line of 50 cars, as he walked along the line counting with the company manager, members of staff drove the already counted cars from the front of the que to the back so that it they could be counted again - all a sudden they had 200 cars and qualified - probably a load of shit but none the less a cunning plan..

a metal detector, a JCB and a car trailer you mean?

Only drawback is, then you end up with a Delorean :puke:

Driven 2, helped fix one and they are pretty much the worst car ever. John Delorean should have spent more time getting stoned and less time trying to build cars.

That was a legendary thread i wish id bookmarked it, you know where it is?

When you say copious amounts holy god it was like a mountain of weed lmao

Surely this has got to get it, remembering the sandblasting topic with an Audi, never laughed so much....

Thats the oldest spoof thread idea ever, i first read a thread about that on the mazda mx6 forum years ago, and because noone had ever put a thread up like that before everyone thought it was real, that was legendary funny haha.

Someone on my local forum was painting their brakes with hammerite, normally you would just do calipers but oh no they did the entire brake assembly discs and everything lol

My dads mate bought a brand new Mini Cooper back in the late seventies. It had a nasty rattle from the door so he took it back to the dealer, apparently there was an empty drinks can in there behind the door card!

Same car my dad and his mates used to take off the hubcaps and fill them with stones, they also managed to pick it up and turn it sideways in a parking space so he couldn't get out... :p *

And one day the chap came back to the car, tried to start it and got nothing. Called out the AA, when they arrived he opened the bonnet and someone had taken the engine! Literally cut all the hoses, wires and the driveshafts and nicked the engine!

briliant! FTW woohoo

iv'e always liked the story behind the xj220,

started off as the "saturday club" some jaguar designers came up with the idea of a v12 4x4 supercar to match the Porsche 959 which was also 4 wheels drive, well they made some, used the engine from the TWR lemans car, made a concept for 1998 british motor show, lots of potential customers, but two years later, financial desaster and customers were promiced v12 4x4 and got half that.. only two wheel drive and a v6 from a mg lol still a amazing car tho

As if he never opened the bonnet before the AA got there? Didnt he notice the suspension was mega high???

Although back in the day it was not unheard of for people to rob beetle engines in the night, It only takes about half an hour (if even that) if you know what your doing.

ah that reminds me of another story related to the XJ220

i was working in a building in stowmarket or bury st edmunds , the building was being turned in to a glasswells furniture store , as i did ceilings so i never saw this , but the site manager was saying that when they started the planning they were setting out walls and stuff and came acrss a void inside the building , the site manager said " bang a hole in that wall " and behold behind the wall covered in years of dust was a 0 miles silver XJ220 . as it turns out the manager of the previous company that was in the building had bought it as an investment on the sly and bricked it in the hole , the company went bust , but the manager couldn`t get the car out as the recivers were in and then the building work started . the car ended up in the hands of the recivers and was sold at auction 8-)

i was googling like mad last night trying to find that when i saw the topic come up!

no joy! :tear::

Not car related, but i hear that somewhere round here ther are 25-30 Rolls Royce 'plane engines, boxed and unused, buried in a field somewhere after WWII, and they are worth about £100,000 each!

And a friend of mine told me that in the early 90's, him and a mate had a spare, brand new unused, Courtenay Astra GTE engine that they didn't know what to do with, so they put it in a bin at Waveney Applegrowers, and it's possibly still there now...

I've got a brand new never run refurbished one next to my desk at work. £100,000 you say....

I'll give you £50k for, seeing as it's been re-furbed... :paranoid:
