For quite a while now, there is a creak that comes form my '03 polo when I go over a bump, or even when i brake/accelerate and the car tilts forward/back.

Occasionally, it will go away after a while, usually after driving for about 30 minutes continuously.

Is this to do with the suspension, or the shocks.

Any help would be much appreciates as it is quite embarrassing

May I add that it is completely stock, so no coilovers etc...

At a guess i'd say console bushes.

Could also be:

Anti roll bar

Anti roll bar bushes

Console bushes are wank on 9n's, mine chews them up and spits them out every 6 months!

If I'm honest I don't know what 'console bushes' are, are they linked with the suspension?

Hopefully it's not going to be tooooo expensive to fix

Is it front, back or all round? My Fabia creaks from the back when it's damp sometimes. I think it's just condensation round the rubber bushes or top mounts and when the rubber compresses on bumps it causes it to creak because the water lets it slide over the metal. Once it's warmed through the condensation evaporates and it stops creaking.

That seems a good explanation, although it seems to happen regardless of whether it's damp or not :/

Do you know if it's easy/expensive to replace?

Don't know really. I just accept it as being part of winter. The car's garaged most of the time so its not too much of an issue.
