The Rolling Road

Featured Replies

Well since the Rolling Road day is not too far away, i think it would be kool to understand how they work. Like What gear do they run the car in and how far up the rev range they go, and hows its measured.

last time mine was done it 3rd, some places will use 4th. depends on your gearbox. what they take it up to is also dependant on the engine, the guy took mine upto around 6k after that the power fell off anyway.

this is an interesting read about how a dyno works, as its Wikipedia dont take it for 100% accurate, but the gist is correct from my rough understanding.

how the loss/through drivetrain is calculated is beyond me, its done in the rundown of the engine somehow.

Isn't there a calculation used by taking the rundown data to calculate what's in the flywheel or something (remember may talking about it on Top Gear when they did the italian supercar challenge)
