the cheapest quote i could find for me was 1400 which was for a 1.4 16v and I've just turned 18(was paying 1300 for my old mk3 1l) if you live around london or in a big city that sounds about right tbh but have a look around try moneysupermarket and some price comparison sites.

i live in leicester mate,I've tried most of the comparison sites do you any other componys i could try

thanks INDY :D

I got my cheapest quote from a company in the Mag they give you when you pass your test.

Basicaly, try everywhere and lie about previous quotes (I they ask "How much have you been quoted so far?" and your cheapest is 1k tell them it was £900 or under. Play them against each other!)

I paid £1200 for my 1.0L but i lived in a little village in the Cotsworlds, so very low risk.

Have you taken Pass Plus? If not do it! Saves a bomb from most companies and is not normaly a question on those comparison sites so get on the phone.

Also, add your Mum/Dad to the insurance as a named driver, that will bring it down if they have lots of NCB - obviously if they have been silly and got points or been banned its proberly not a good idea

what kerrly said :)

1800 is a rip wen i first started drivin like in feb i got it for 500 on my mums now I've been drivin since may with mods on my 1l its 1150 :) try direct line for cheap wth no mods or endlsigh for cheap with mods and phone dnt do it on the internet u save lots of money :)

I think as he is in Leicester it seems an ok price.

Have a look at Bell and Quinn mate, I got insured on my 1.3 for 650 all mods declared with bell! I'm 18 with a years experience and no no claims.

i find MORE THAN INSURANCE good, I'm payin £520 a year and thats all mods declared also gt the gf on the policy and with breakdown (£4.50 extra a month)

if u r a fist buyer i have just turned 18 with 1 years no claims comeing up 2 but my 1st payment was all in 1 go fully comp for a 1.4 mk4 polo 8v £1600 with 1 years with directline.
