I think its 50/50 with the paint, its had a hard rear ender at some point in its life, but yeah it still cleans up nice. Photos do it to much justice though. It will be a shame to re-shell it, its been a good car for me. :cry:

nah you cant reshell it man, needs to get up to 300k at least and it can give the old toyboata taxi cabs a run for its money

any pics of the mini too, i used to have one when a few years back

loving the plates especially... :) sweet cars

The only pic i seem to have of the mini is from when i changed the wheel arch's, not that good of a photo!

Gotta love minis, road legal go kart! :-D

And as for re-shelling, the G is a cat C in 99, was stolen in 96, my bro crashed it, I've crashed it, it has 247,000 miles and it has been clocked at some point! has had the chassis leg welded twice, and needs a new n/s quarter panel, so will be alot cheaper to put it in a mint 1.0 or sumink. I really would love to repair it, but haven't got the time :x

my old housemate would love that he has a black mini as well, it was rotton as a pear tho, we could lift it off the rear subframe, mine was a shed too =[ yours looks clean, did you fit some sportspack arches or owt, as I'm guessing thats pre arch being on as thats about as vw euro as you can get on a mini atm, e38 would be proud :lol:

your wee polos had a right old journey it seems! I know youll probably always keep that engine so if you can keep the shell, reshell it into a little garage find minter but id always keep that shell somewhere for maybe a fleeting romance back with it when your having a mid life crisis and do it justice

:unibrow::drool::drool: That's fucking amazing :nod::smirk:

Next time can we put me in the middle so I can have some brothers? :-p

That pic was just when i had the arches off and cleaned all the mud out from underneath, it has group 2 wide arches on at the mo, i dont think the ol' bill would like me drivin around with the wheels sticking out like that! :lol:

I would love to store the g40 shell somewhere until i could afford to restore it, but units/garages are fooking expensive down here so it will be unlikely. I will always keep the engine and running gear though, and the clocks will go in the next 1 too, lol, bit like a memorial to the original! It might have the same chassis number too! ;)

And dirrt, i would say we can arrange something this year, but i think I'm going to go to vw action instead of edition this year, so maybe not. :p
