reading through a thread where turbodaily states his G has covered an amazing 247,000 miles.

so whats the highest mileage you've personally seen? any car vag in particular though.

seen a couple of 350, 000 + mainly taxi's from my gearbox mechanic days

then one day a south african import merc (taxi) came in for a gearbox - no wonder as it had covered 447,000 odd!!!

i thought that couldn't be beat until i bought a 1981 mk1 golf small tail light model, after glancing at the dash i remember thinking mileage wasn't bad - 74000 for a 25+ year old car. oh no wait it reads 745,000!!!!! sh1T!!!!

i'll get a pic up later as i still have the dash.

I heard off a mate that the world record is about 1 million miles. Beleive it or not it was on a Rover from holland. All on the same engine and box too no rebuilds just oil changes.

our motorhome has about 350k miles on it but thats a big ass 5.7l iveco so its got quite a bit left lol

LDV 400 we had, it was on 600-odd k when the speedo stopped working, it lived for about 2 years after that.

Bro used to have a Passat with 236k (Sold) and a Mk2 Golf with 200k (Scrapped shell).

I was in a merc taxi in lanzarote with 999,999 kilometres some others with arround 750k couldnt believe it!

The Guinness world record for highest mileage on a vehicle is car is currently held by Irv Gordon and his 1966 Volvo P1800, the pair have traveled 2.5 million miles since Irv first bought the car the year it was made.

We have a couple of 54 plate volvo taxi's that come in to work regular. Their both well on their way to 350k last time they were in. That's bout 70k a year!!

my 6n has 109000, and i remember me and a mate one day hit 100,000 in his fiesta and the clocks went back to 0!!!!

yeah wen i was on holiday last week,was in bout 3 different taxi's with speedos that had stopped at 999,999 miles
