i got it running and jumped in for a test drive, glanced down at the clocks - i had to double take 87k NO 879K!! car was in good nick too, i'll try and get a pic as it's the highest i've seen.

i remember watching a 4x4 is born when he was rebuilding an old toyota land cruiser and he went to visit an owners club in south africa and one fella had 1,750,000 miles on his and it had never once broken down unexpectedly!

now thats reliability for you!

i do about 300miles between unexpected breakdowns :tear:

my G is on 177k

my G is on 177k

Mine is on 186k, love it!

My dads w202 is comin up to 250k. Still pulls strong, just looking a bit of a shed really.

A mate of mine has a Nissan Bluebird sitting around with 388k on it, still goes with a lot of blue smoke, and I had a Frontera with 181k when I sold it, again it was smokey and thirsty but still went well enough :)

wood love to beleave all these high milege clames but pointles with out photos or proof

You mean you have expected breakdowns..? It's nicer if it doesn't surprise you I guess

A few of our lorries at work have 400k+ on 2006 plates.

I remember reading an article on that Golf Mk2 with 1million Kilometres on the clock.. I think VW bought it back off the guy for R&D purposes and gave him and brand spanker MK5 GTi in return...

A lot of high milage Volvos on the forums I'm on

i remeber when my mate sean bought a Mk2 golf i think it was a 8v or 16v i never really asked i was only 12 lol but he bought it with 170k on it and sold it with around 220k

not one repair was done on the engine or electricals, and he really took care of it, better than i do my VW, and the scarey thing was 6 years later, the other day i saw the same car same reg plate drive past (i had to double take) first thing i did was call ma mate and tell him and he said to me "stop imagining things" rofl shame i couldnt of snapped a pic to prove it to him :L

glad cos mines only done 141000 mk3 coupe good for a few more miles yet then me thinks :smirk:

my hpi check says my 6n2 has covered 450k! but it is clearly an extra 0 added by a shitty mot tester accidentally!! Unless it did 400k miles in 1 year!

my mk2 has just hit 162000 miles with no service history at all and by looking at it the majority of parts are still factory

not as high as some of them lol but it's still going strong :)

I do around 40K a year so in 4 years time mine will have done 230K. After that I will keep it untill it breaks down and just scrap it.

We had a 59 plate ford focus in our workshop the other day and it had 190k on it!!
