Seat Upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi all, bought myself a little 1.4 mk4 as a run about for work... the driving seats are a bit shitty though so i was wondering if people could put up a list of seats (or complete interiors if they want 8-) ) that are a pretty much straight swap.

I had a look on the search, but there are so many threads with so many answers i thought it would be good to collate them in to one comprehensive list. I can take this down the scrappies at the weekend an get my self a bargain interior upgrade. CHeers

anything before 2002 should go straight in, although mk4 golf/bora/passat seats and 6n2 seats will need a bit of work before they can, so SEATS that go in :

polo 4,3,2,1

golf 3,2,1

corrado

scirroco

caddy 2,1

vento's and jettas

seat ibiza,toledo etc

and i no skoda fabia rear seats will fit but again the fronts will need work

not too sure about audi seats

apart from that anything should fit if you REALLY want it to

anyone add to the list?

6n2 seats don't require any work - I went to a scrappy and took some mk5 polo seats out of a 2001 car and they went in perfectly.

A vast improvement from the originals.

oh right lol i thought the front adjust thing was a bit different obviously the runners are the same. sorry bout that, there you go then mate another option lol

pmed

mk3 golf seats are your best bet. I got a cloth interior from a gti for £40 on ebay. Front seats go straight in no work required. Then the back seats you just swap the material off the golf seats onto the polo rear bench. I fitted the whole interior in about an hour.

crappy pic..

more wrong than garry glitter in playschool

mk4 polo shares the same seat subframes as:

golf 3, vento, ibiza, inca van, caddy 2, mk5 polo not sure if there are any others.

the rest of the ones you've listed (golf 1,2, rocco, raddo, caddy 1 and toledo )will fit the mk1-3 polos which have narrower seat subframes.

sure I've fitted mk2 golf seats into a polo before, isnt it the front adjust thing is on the wrong side so just swap the seats over? I'm probly wrong though lol and what if gary glitter was doing a singing workshop for the kids (!)

Mk1 and early Mk2 seats have a different arangment of the handel to move the seat back and forward (I found this puttng Mk3 GT seats into my mk2) the handel and bar that opperate the locking peg are on opposite sides so it's year dependant.

is there any chance bora seats will fit a 6n2? (sorry if this has been done to death)

If you make subframes they will, otherwise, no..

does anyone know if 6n2 seats fit in a 6k saloon or estate? I'm pretty sure the fronts will go straight in but will the rears need the material removed from the metal backing and then swapping over or will they go straight in? Thanks ryan
